VS Energy Shareholder: Russia Must be Held Liable for the War against Ukraine

Reflecting on the death of another VS Energy employee, one of the group's shareholders Vilis Dambiņš has reiterated that Russia's atrocities in Ukraine are a global crime

for which Putin and Russia must be held accountable at an international tribunal.

"Sadly, one of Kirovogradoblenergo's employees has died. He would have turned 25 years old on September 11. His wife and small child did not welcome him home. Needless to say, our company will do all it can to provide the necessary assistance to the employee's family so that they are not left alone in this tragedy," says Vilis Dambiņš.

This is not the first death of an employee of one of VS Energy conglomerate's regional electricity companies this year. Previously, the 38-year-old Deputy Manager of the Rivneoblenergo Substation Andriy Savonik and Kirovohradoblenergo electrician Nikolay Bobko were killed in an enemy airstrike. One of Kirovohradoblenergo's employees is considered to be missing. At present, over 600 VS Energy conglomerate employees are serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"This war launched by Putin and Russia is both inhumane and unprovoked. They must be held responsible for all the crimes committed in Ukraine and the deaths of Ukrainians. I support the position of Latvia's position, Egils Levits, regarding the necessity to establish an international tribunal to punish the initiators and perpetrators of Russia's war against Ukraine," said Vilis Dambiņš.

In addition to the assistance provided by the VS Energy conglomerate to the Ukrainian Armed Forces totalling over UAH 60 million, I have bought five SUVs for the front line, three drones and ambulances.

This is my personal contribution to Ukraine's victory over our mutual enemy. I view all attempts to link my name to toxic Russian politicians as a personal insult!

In the struggle against Russian terror, Europe and my country Latvia both support Ukrainians. Latvia has already allocated a third of its annual defence budget to Ukraine. And we will continue to provide Ukraine with humanitarian and military aid!" asserted Dambiņš.
