VS Energy has Paid Over UAH 1 Billion in Taxes to Ukraine

During the first three quarters of 2022, five Ukrainian regional electricity distribution companies, which are part of the VS Energy conglomerate, paid nearly UAH 1.2 billion in taxes

into state and municipal budgets, despite the destruction of the energy infrastructure by Russian missiles.

The announcement was made by VS Energy shareholder Vilis Dambiņš, who runs Khersonoblenergo, Kirovohradoblenergo, Chernihivoblenergo, Zhytomyroblenergo and Rivneoblenergo, reports DS.

However, Dambiņš acknowledged that right now the energy sector is facing the toughest period in the history of independent Ukraine.

"We are doing everything in our power to maintain a continuous supply of electricity throughout the country. This is hard and we have suffered huge losses. Khersonoblenergo has been hit the hardest. At least 30% of its infrastructure has been destroyed or stolen by the Russians, which is equivalent to a loss of at least UAH 2 billion. The precise figures will be known after the liberation of the whole region. However, at the same time, we are acutely aware how badly the country needs our taxes. Therefore, being a responsible business, we are paying the country all the necessary monthly deductions. Victory will be ours!" asserted Dambiņš.

He called on all consumers to pay for the electricity they consume promptly.

"I realise that right now, things are very tough for Ukrainians. On the one hand, we've got the war, and on the other – the economy is in a really difficult place. But I would like to thank everybody who responsibly pays their monthly electricity bills. Every hryvnia of yours helps us to maintain the energy front. Light is on our side!" stressed Dambiņš.

VS Energy unites five energy distribution companies – distribution system operators (Khersonoblenergo, Zhytomyroblenergo, Kirovohradoblenergo, Chernihivoblenergo and Rivneoblenergo) into a single management system. More than 11,000 employees work for the companies run by the conglomerate.

Since 2014, VS Energy shareholders are European Union citizens: Valts Vīgants (Latvia), Vilis Dambiņš (Latvia), Artūrs Altbergs (Latvia), Oļegs Sizermans (Germany) and Marina Jaroslavska (Germany).
