AS Khersonoblenergo Needs EUR 6.4 million (UAH 270 million) in International Aid to Restore Electricity in the Kherson Oblast

As a result of Russian shelling, 77 populated areas in the Kherson Oblast and over 35,500 consumers remain without electricity.

The biggest problems are afflicting the two main substations in Berislav and Kherson districts. It will take at least EUR 6.4 million (UAH 270 million) to restore these energy facilities, which have been severely damaged by Russian shelling.

"The two main substations Posad-Pokrovska and Trifonivka have suffered the most severe losses. As a result, over 35,000 consumers have been deprived of power for nine months. We call on the international community, volunteers and Ukrainian businesses to help us restore the equipment," pleaded Khersonoblenergo in an open statement.

Located in the village of Trifonivka, Berislav district, Kherson Oblast, the Trifonivka Substation supplies 30 populated places in Berislav district including over 14,000 consumers.

47 settlements of Kherson district with 21,200 consumers are dependent on the Posad-Pokrovska Substation for their supply of electricity.

To restore these substations to full operations, Khersonblenergo requires various categories of equipment and financial support from international partners and volunteer organizations. A description of the necessary equipment, equipment and estimates is detailed in the following link:

In the past, Khersonoblenergo has received partial aid for the restoration of equipment from the Red Cross, but the scale of the existing problems means that right now a more comprehensive solution is required.

Khersonoblenergo is part of the VS Energy conglomerate, which unites five energy distribution companies-distribution system operators under one management system (Khersonoblenergo, Zhytomyroblenergo, Kirovogradoblenergo, Chernihivoblenergo, and Rivneoblenergo). The companies under the management of the conglomerate employ more than 11,000 employees.
